Frequently Asked Questions

E3 2022 is cancelled. Why are you still doing a recap?

Although E3 2022 is cancelled, there is plenty of other video game announcements and events taking it's place. It's even more important now to have it all in one place with the shows being as segmented as they are.

What is this website about?

This website was first created for E3 2014. The main goal of this website is to gather all the major announcements made at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). As an avid gamer, I found it incredibly frustrating to have to sift through various gaming sites and do my own research to figure out what trailers were shown, which platforms the game is coming out on, etc.

Together, my friend and I, have expanded over the past few years and we hope we can help you get all of that information from E3 in one convenient place.

Why is there more than one 'game card' for certain games?

If you notice a game shows up multiple times through out the grid, that is not a mistake. Tiles are not added to the site based by game but rather by chronological order of content. For example: A Developer released a trailer for 'Game X' at Conference A, which I then made a 'game card' for. The developer is bound to share more 'Game X' footage during another conference, this will get a new tile since it came at a later date.

We chose to do it this way because some games get coverage multiple times through out multiple conferences and this ensures that people can sort the tiles by Newest to see the latest game announcement.

Do the search field and filter options work in tandem?

Yes. You can narrow down results with the filters and then use the search field to go even further.

I found a bug on the site. Can you fix it?

We will try our best to optimize the website and fix bugs. If you find a bug, please email us at contact@e3recap.com. Please be as descriptive as possible as to what device/browser/conditions you are experiencing the bug in. As a disclaimer: Both my friend and I are self-taught developers so we apologize in advance if there is something we cannot get sorted out in a timely manner.

What is up with the color scheme on the tiles?

The color scheme is used to display which conference the announcements were made at.

Below you can checkout what conference each color represents.

Why is *insert game trailer here* not on the website?

There are lots of announcements and videos being released throughout this time period and I am 100% sure we will not catch all of them. If you find something missing just let me know at contact@e3recap.com or tweet us @e3recap.

Cool site but I think it can be even better if there was...

We are always open to feedback and criticism. Send your thoughts on what you think could be added or handled better to contact@e3recap.com or tweet at us @e3recap.

Why do you have ads on your site?

This has been mostly a passion project and a way for my friend and I to learn and refine our web development skills. There has been a lot of man hours used up to create and maintain this site every year. There is also the server expensives which are out of pocket. We run ads on the site in order to try and make the website self-sustaining.
